ALEX BISHOP

Level III Fascial Stretch Specialist
Basic & Performance RockTape Provider
Stick Mobility Coach

Over the last 11 years, Alex has gained over 13,000 hours of experience working with thousands of people. With clients ranging in age from 3 to 88, he has worked with a wide array of people with varying needs and abilities, including both non-athletes and athletes at the collegiate, professional and Olympian levels.

Finding the source of an issue in the body is how Alex gets results with his clients. Whether it is past or current injuries that limit daily activities, there is always a goal to allow the client to do what they love to do, and sometimes perform it better. Using only a massage table and soft straps to focus on one side of the body at a time, Alex listens to the tissue and safely stretches using traction. Fascial Stretch Therapy has opened Alex’s eyes to how you can, in most cases, use natural methods to provide relief and healing for a variety of issues. He hopes to continue to learn to help clients as much as they help him.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS STRETCH THERAPY FOR ME?

Stretch therapy can be beneficial for people of all ages, especially for athletes, workers in occupations that require repetitive motions or long periods of sitting/standing, patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic pain, aging adults looking to maintain or increase flexibility, and individuals battling mental health issues. Whether you are looking to improve athletic performance, find relief for pain, or build up your stamina and mobility, Fascial Stretch Therapy can help.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME IN?

Frequency will vary depending on the client’s needs, level of discomfort, age, personal limitations, and budget.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW FOR MY FIRST SESSION?

Active wear or loose clothing is recommended. Personal hygiene is appreciated. Reflect on past/present aches, pains, or injuries to better help your therapist understand your needs. Make sure to hydrate before your session!

At your first appointment, we will discuss any concerns that brought you in for your session, provide education about how we stretch, and assess any trouble areas of the body.

WHAT ABOUT AFTER MY SESSION?

You may experience some soreness after your appointment, this is normal. Make sure to hydrate and pay attention to how your body responds (good, bad, or unchanged) after your session to improve the feedback loop between you and your therapist. Follow any assigned stretches or exercises. Home assignments may change over time depending on how the body is responding to new movements.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

Unfortunately insurance is not accepted. However, we can take HSA/FSA payments.

TESTIMONIALS

“Came in at the recommendation of both my primary care physician and my alternative therapy provider. Alex is an excellent and knowledgeable stretch therapist who looks at the problem holistically. At first it may seem strange to stretch your legs to help with a problem in your shoulder, but Alex walks you through the atlas of muscles and explains the body's interconnectivity. Primarily focused on athletes but anyone experiencing issues with joints or mobility can be helped.
Each session is personalized and Alex functions as part therapist, part trainer, and part life coach. A great experience and has helped immensely with my neck/shoulder pain. An added bonus was increased endurance for my daily jogs!”

- Tom Farmer

“I had a Labral Tear Reattachment surgery on my right hip over a year ago. Nothing in this world helped relieve the pain and tightness from the scar tissue like Alex’s Fascial Stretch therapy. Worth every penny. I can actually touch my toes now!"

- Matt Stebbins

"Alex is the real deal. I love his knowledge of the human body and specifically, human movement. His holistic approach is exactly what we need more of in modern medicine. Alex has helped me turn the corner in my training and feel better than ever while doing it. I leave my sessions feeling lighter and equipped with additional exercises to help strengthen my weaknesses. As an Ironman triathlete, marathon runner, and certified desk-jockey, I 100% recommend him to help you move better and with less pain.”

Initially, I wanted to work on my flexibility and had heard about stretch therapy...He is extremely knowledgeable and makes you comfortable during the full treatment. Alex is a wonderful therapist that loves his work and cares about his clients and their needs. He is also very charismatic and easy-going, and I consider him a friend now.
